Emergency First Aid – C

Basic course offering lifesaving first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) skills for the workplace or home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

One-day course or Blended option where all theory is done online two weeks prior to the half-day, in-class practical portion.

Standard First Aid – C

Comprehensive course offering lifesaving first aid skills, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, and injury prevention skills and knowledge, with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines and meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

​This is a much more in-depth training course for those seeking to learn and get hands-on training to assist in several potential emergency situations. 

​​

Two-day course or Blended option where all theory is done online two weeks prior to the one-day, in-class practical portion.

Basic Life Support (BLS - former HCP)

Designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation. Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy can also be added as additional certifications to this course.

​This course is recommended for dental offices, medical clinics, emergency services personnel.

Oxygen Therapy

Designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to correctly identify when it is necessary to administer supplemental oxygen. Participants will learn how to properly and safely handle and assemble the equipment and how to correctly deliver supplemental oxygen through the appropriate delivery device.

Airway Management

Designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to create a patent airway, the interventions to maintain it, and the equipment available to carry out these skills.

Psychological First Aid

This course is designed for anyone seeking a certification in Psychological First Aid. This more substantive and flexible curriculum helps you gain a deeper understanding of the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model – this means having awareness that there is a problem, listening to yourself or others, and linking to resources in your community so you can live fully.

Stop the Bleed

Bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death after injury.  STOP THE BLEED® guides you through the three methods of bleeding control to save lives.

Emergency Medical Responder

Participants will learn and demonstrate all knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and on-going care, including the transportation of a patient to a healthcare facility. Course content may vary depending on jurisdictional requirements and, in addition, follows the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as defined by the Paramedic Association of Canada. Participants will be engaged in dynamic training techniques including video, media presentations, skills demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions and scenarios based on real-life situations.

First Responder

Comprehensive first aid and CPR skills for professional first responders or those training to become first responders. Course teaches the patient assessment model, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, and care for a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Participants will be engaged in dynamic training techniques including video, media presentations, skills demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions and scenarios based on real-life situations.

Fire Extinguisher

Course provides the skills needed to be prepared to prevent fires and fire hazards.  You will learn how to assess a situation and respond appropriately to a fire in case of emergency.  Each participant will extinguish a live fire.

WHMIS

Canadian law requires that any person exposed to hazardous materials in the workplace must be trained in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

This comprehensive WHMIS 2015 course includes the new Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling for chemicals (GHS) enacted in 2015. It also covers content from the previous WHMIS system (WHMIS 1988).

​

This course consists of 6 chapters and a final exam. Once you pass your exam, you may print your certificates of completion (wallet & wall sized). Training may be paused or resumed at any time, is fully narrated, and includes interactive exercises to ensure understanding of course content. Alternative training methods are also available including book based distance learning, and classroom training.
